HOLE BY HOLE DESCRIPTION

1 Westward Ho 335 320 290 245 yards Par 4, Handicap 13 m/13 w
Plays directly west. Tee shots start out over a large waste area. The yardage stake is 150 yards from the center of the green as it is on all holes unless otherwise noted. A line of trees up the right rough and a large sand trap in the left rough are poised to catch errant tee shots. The green is protected on the left by a tree and a deep sand trap.

2 By George! 384 345 325 295 yards Par 4, Handicap 3/3
Plays directly east. A large waste area runs up the left side to catch wayward tee shots up the rough. A small sand trap in the right rough will snare tee shots off line in that direction. Second shots must avoid the trees protecting access to the green from either side. Further right is a large waste area. Seconds hit off line left will likely find the lateral hazard which runs nearly the entire length of the hole. The large green is situated in a depression with a hillside to the right and back and moguls to the left.

3 Mary’s Lamb 334 297 275 242 yards Par 4, Handicap 7/11
Plays to the north with a slight dogleg left to a green protected on the left by a large sand trap and on the right by a line of trees. Tee shots must avoid the water running along the left side all the way to the green side sand trap. Tee shots to the right may encounter a line of trees. This yardage stake in the middle of the fairway denotes 100 yards to the green’s center. Accurate approach shots to the large green may be rewarded with birdie putts.

4 Cape Horn 198 145 130 80 yards Par 3, Handicap 11/15
Plays to the northwest. Tee shots from all but the silver tees must cross the hazard into a slight uphill green position protected on the far left by a deep sand trap. Tee shots off line to the right may catch trees and bushes. A drop area is provided for men.

5 Loch Ness 498 460 430 374 yards Par 5, Handicap 1/1
Plays to the north with a dogleg left at the large waste area as it narrows the fairway at the yardage stake. Tee shots up the left side rough must avoid the waste area extending intermittently nearly to the green. Trees mark the margin of rough and waste area. Well placed second shots on this hole will avoid the trouble up the right side; trees in the right rough may keep shots going further right into a lateral water hazard. Shots into the large green must stay away from the right front sand trap and not reach the sand trap back left.

6 The Unforgiving 318 280 260 225 yards Par 4, Handicap 5/9
Plays to the east with a dogleg right at the large tree. Tee shots must carry over the water hazard. A drop area is provided for men and women. Those going too far left will catch a large waste area. Too far right and you may encounter the water hazard. The yardage stake on this hole is 100 yards from the center of the green. A smaller tree in the right rough may make second shots from the right side a challenge as will the water which runs up that side nearly all the way to the green. A sand trap protects the green from the left.

7 Tania’s Temptation 473 435 410 355 yards Par 5, Handicap 17/5 Plays to the south with a dogleg left before the green. Tee shots carry over the water hazard on the way to the fairway. A drop area is provided for men and women. Second shots must avoid the line of trees on the right. Those going left risk finding a group of trees guarding the line to the green from that side. The best position to place your shot is right of center to provide an open shot to this green. A slight elevation in front of this green makes running the ball up on it difficult.

8 Eagle’s Dare 148 130 115 90 yards Par 3, Handicap 15/17
Plays to the east over a water hazard. The green is slightly uphill from the tee box. An extra club for the indicated distance is a good idea. Bushes and trees right of the green.

9 Slice of Heaven 367 335 310 255 yards Par 4, Handicap 9/7
Plays to the south back to the club house. A large waste area runs for 100 yards up the right side. Tee shots way left may be Out-of-Bounds on Royal St. Georges Lane. Second shots must avoid the sand trap in the right rough short of the green and a greenside sand trap on the front left. This green provides a large target.

10 Paradise 330 320 295 220 yards Par 4, Handicap 14/14
Plays to the south. Tee shots wayward right or left risk reaching waste area running a considerable distance towards the green. Shots going way right or left are Out-of-Bounds. Second shots too far right may reach a tree-line; those too far left may find a large depression at the base of the elevated green.

11 Blind Man’s Bluff 144 120 100 75 yards Par 3, Handicap 16/18
Plays to the southwest. Tee shots must carry a large waste area to a large elevated green guarded by a sand trap to the right. The elevation requires careful club selection to reach the putting surface.

12 Long John Silver 520 450 430 355 yards Par 5, Handicap 12/4
Plays to the west. Tee shots must carry a large waste area to a diagonal fairway running to the left and slightly uphill. There are trees on the left and right. Your second shot needs to be to the left of the yardage stake to have the best opening to the green. Shots too far right bring the trees guarding the front right of the green into play. Those going far left can reach the valley in the left rough. The large green slightly right and bellow fairway level is protected by a sand trap on the left. In addition to the trees on the right there are trees to the left between the green and cart path. Shots over the green may find a planting of bushes.

13 Castle Walk 175 160 145 115 yards Par 3, Handicap 6/12
Plays to the east. Tee shots on this uphill hole must avoid bushes, waste area, large greenside sand trap and trees on the right and a line of trees, Out-of-Bounds left of the cart path and a shallow greenside sand trap on the left. The large green has some significant putting challenges. A par score on this hole feels like a birdie.

14 Pike’s Peak 340 335 320 250 yards Par 4, Handicap 8/10
Plays to the north. Tee shots to the slightly elevated fairway must carry over a waste area that curves to the right and runs to within 100 yards of the green. A small group of trees and Out-of-Bounds are a risk with shots going left off this tee. The best position is left of the yardage stake. The green is set bellow the fairway protected by palm trees and a large waste area to the right of the green, a shallow greenside sand trap on the left , bushes, trees and Out-of-Bounds behind the green.

15 River View 395 360 335 288 yards Par 4, Handicap 2/6
Plays to the west. Tee shots right and left risk bushes and large waste areas. The long hitter may find one of the two sand traps to the left or the one on the right. The best position is in the fairway left of the yardage stake. The second shot down hill to the green may find one of the two sand traps protecting the right front or the large waste area and small orange trees to the left. The large green is a challenge to read and putt.

16 Double Trouble 510 470 445 380 yards Par 5, Handicap 4/2
Plays to the east. Tee shots must carry the large waste area, with plenty of bushes to contend with, and Out-of-Bounds (O B) left and right to a fairway running slightly up hill. For the longer hitters there is a large sand trap in the right rough. Second shots must carry a ditch protected by bushes and boulders that crosses the fairway about 150 yards from the green. Shots going too far left or right risk landing in bushes or a large waste area in the right rough. The O B runs nearly the full length of this hole on the left and right. This hole doglegs to the right and up hill to a large green protected on the left front by a large sand trap. There is another sand trap back left and
OB. This large green offers a number of challenging hole placements.

17 The Guillotine 330 315 277 220 yards Par 4, Handicap 18/16
Plays to the south. Tee shots must carry a large waste area on the way to an elevated fairway. Shots going too far right risk trees and Out-of-Bounds and too left there are trees. Second shots on this hole are to a slightly elevated green guarded by two sand traps and trees on the right and trees left. A small waste area can catch shots too far left and short of the green.

18 Now or Never 342 330 300 247 yards Par 4, Handicap 10/8
Plays to the north. Tee shots must carry over a small waste area. Trees guard the left side and a large waste area comes into play to the right. A single large tree 120 yards from the green on the right can restrict shots in to the green from that position. A large waste area to the right of the 100 yard marker, a sand trap 70 yards out on the left with a couple of trees and a group of trees and bushes to the right of the green may come into play. Shots over the green may find one of the three large palms. This green runs away from front to back making approach shots challenging. The home hole deserves its handicap ranking.
